Ellen currently serves as the Grants Writer for The Hodge Group. Since beginning her private practice as a grantwriter and fundraising consultant in 1996, Ellen Ticktin has worked with over 50 nonprofit agencies in Greater Cleveland. Her work has involved developing grant proposals for programs and strategies for successful capital and endowment campaigns.

Prior to working as a consultant, she spent 21 years as a professional in the nonprofit field, including the American Heart Association, Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland, and the Jewish Community Federation, where she was the Assistant Director of Endowments and Foundations.

She has been an Instructor in proposal writing seminars sponsored by the Foundation Center of Cleveland and Grantmakers Forum.

With a long-time interest in writing and journalism, Ellen completed her undergraduate work in 1969 at Barnard College where she was awarded the Columbia University Press Prize for her writing on the college newspaper. In 1977, she completed her graduate studies in Social Work at Case Western Reserve University's Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.
