A professional development training opportunity for all Ohio community college Foundation staff members.

Presented by: Bill Stanczykiewicz, Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy

THURSDAY, MAY 23, 2019 | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM | COLUMBUS STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DELAWARE CAMPUS

THIS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING IS MADE POSSIBLE BY A GRANT FROM THE CASE V VENTURE FUND.

Leadership is about seeing your opportunities in their greatest context, and Ohio’s association of community colleges has significant opportunities in the context of today’s local, state, national, and world economies. These opportunities – crafted into a compelling vision and a case for support – provide ample possibilities for Ohio’s community college fundraisers to raise support for their unique impact.

This training relies on the four quadrant leadership diagram initially devised by Nanus and Dobbs for the philanthropic sector. After providing a baseline of information pertaining to philanthropy, development, fundraising, and the latest data and trends on charitable giving, the workshop then transitions to an applied understanding of leadership for fundraising professionals.

Participants are guided in practical ways to develop vision, communicate that vision, and implement that vision, all leading toward the opportunity to fundraise in support of that vision. The session then concludes with an exercise that specifically translates that vision into a fundraising case for support.
